Biography

Google is a United States technology company and the main subsidiary of Alphabet, headquartered in Mountain View, California. It operates the world's most used search engine and the advertising business built around it, along with Android, Chrome, YouTube, Google Cloud and the Workspace productivity suite. Its AI work runs through Google DeepMind, formed by merging DeepMind with Google Brain, which develops the Gemini model family now embedded across search, Workspace and the Pixel hardware line. Google also designs its own Tensor Processing Units, giving it a training and inference stack that does not depend entirely on outside chip suppliers. The company sits in an unusual position: generative answers threaten the search results that generate most of its revenue, and it is building them anyway.
