Biography

Inherent is a London-based artificial intelligence research lab that builds autonomous agents for scientific discovery. It was founded by researchers who previously worked at Google DeepMind, and it emerged from stealth in 2026 with a seed round of about 50 million dollars. Its first public system, Faraday, is an agent designed to reproduce the results of published research papers by reading a study, reconstructing its method and running the experiments end to end. The lab's stated focus is narrower than that of general-purpose model developers: rather than training frontier chat models, it targets the parts of the research process that are repetitive, verifiable and currently done by hand.
