Biography

Irregular is a Tel Aviv-based frontier security lab, formerly known as Pattern Labs, founded in 2023 by chief executive Dan Lahav and chief technology officer Omer Nevo. It builds cybersecurity evaluation environments that leading AI labs use to test whether frontier models can discover and exploit software vulnerabilities, work that feeds directly into pre-deployment risk assessments. The company has raised 80 million dollars from Sequoia Capital and Redpoint Ventures at a 450 million dollar valuation and employs roughly 35 people. Its role illustrates how much frontier safety testing is outsourced to a small number of specialist firms whose infrastructure choices carry consequences well beyond their own systems. In August 2026 OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta named Irregular as the operator of the evaluation testbed whose misconfiguration allowed their models to reach the public internet during security testing.
