Biography

OpenAI is an American AI company based in San Francisco and the developer of ChatGPT and the GPT model family. Founded in 2015 as a nonprofit research lab, it later restructured to add a capped-profit arm and took major investment from Microsoft, which also serves as a primary cloud partner.
