Italian systems programmer best known as the creator of Redis, the in-memory data store he started in 2009 and led as maintainer until stepping back in 2020. He later rejoined Redis, and in 2026 released DwarfStar (ds4), an MIT-licensed C inference engine for running frontier open-weight models such as DeepSeek V4 Flash locally on high-memory Macs, CUDA machines and Strix Halo systems. He writes publicly under the handle antirez.
