Anthropic Ships Claude Plugin for Nonprofits

Anthropic on Oct. 26 released a Claude for Nonprofits plugin built with about 30 nonprofits. It auto-installs at no extra cost for verified nonprofits on Team and Enterprise plans, as more than 25,000 nonprofits now use Claude.

Anthropic on Monday, Oct. 26, released a Claude for Nonprofits plugin, a bundle of skills and connectors that it says was built with about 30 nonprofit organizations. The plugin is installed automatically, at no extra cost, for verified nonprofits on Claude's Team and Enterprise plans, according to Anthropic's announcement.

Key takeaways

  • The Claude for Nonprofits plugin groups skills for marketing, hiring, board work, AI-policy checks and fundraising, including grant searches with cited sources.
  • Anthropic says more than 25,000 nonprofits use Claude, and over 75% of them have fewer than 10 seats.
  • The company also plans to extend Claude Corps, its early-career fellowship program, through a partnership with Taproot Foundation.

What the Claude for Nonprofits plugin does

Anthropic sorts the skills into three groups. The "extend your team" set covers campaign planning and drafting in an organization's voice, job posts with interview guides and scoring rubrics, 90-day plans for new hires, and board tasks such as skills-gap analysis and meeting decks.

A second group is meant to set Claude up responsibly. One skill maps where an organization keeps its records, saved per person if memory is turned on. Another checks whether a task is allowed under the organization's own AI use policy.

The third group targets fundraising. Skills find funders and open grants with cited sources, analyze requests for proposals for eligibility, draft proposals and reports with sources for figures, and help prepare funder calls, thank-you notes and donor updates.

Who built it and who will help nonprofits adopt it

Anthropic said the plugin came out of a Design Partner Circle of about 30 organizations. Twelve consulting and implementation firms, including Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, The Bridgespan Group and Slalom, are listed as adoption partners.

Users quoted in the announcement described concrete workloads. Allies Against Slavery analyzed more than 750 state anti-trafficking policies. "We think of Claude as a research fellow who never gets tired," said John Nehme, the group's president and CEO. Scott Burns, president and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank, said, "Claude is making us a much better steward of every dollar."

Context: Anthropic's nonprofit pricing so far

The plugin builds on a program Anthropic launched in December 2025 with discounts of up to 75% on Team and Enterprise plans, connectors for Blackbaud, Candid and Benevity, and a free AI Fluency course made with GivingTuesday, NonProfit PRO reported at the time.

In September 2026, around the U.N. General Assembly, Anthropic added a discount of about 90% for verified nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries, bringing standard Team seats to $3 per user per month. It also lowered the Team plan minimum to two people, and Claude Code is included in nonprofit plans at no extra cost.

The company says it does not train its models on customer data by default and that admins control user access and which connectors are allowed. The release lands as Anthropic heads toward a public listing; our earlier report covered how its revenue run rate cleared $65 billion.

What's next for Claude Corps and nonprofit training

Claude Corps, announced in June, is placing 1,000 early-career fellows in at least 400 U.S. nonprofits. The Associated Press reported then that Anthropic committed $150 million to the program and that each host organization receives a $10,000 grant. The new Taproot Foundation partnership is meant to extend that effort; Anthropic did not give further details on its scope.

Anthropic has scheduled two webinars: an admin guide to data handling and AI use policy on Nov. 10, and a staff guide to making Claude useful on day one on Nov. 12.
